On August 19, the Zhejiang University social science delegation visited the University of Western Australia (UWA) and discussed cooperation activities with Iain Watt, Vice President of Foreign Affairs, Professor Helen Wildy, Dean of the Faculty of Education (FE), Professor Krishna Sen, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and 19 other deans and professors and directors from UWA. The meetings were rich and fruitful for the relative majors, for communication and cooperation.

    Dean Xu Xiaozhou of the College of Education, ZJU, Dean Helen Wildy and Assistant Dean Mark Pegrum of the Faculty of Education at UWA, Dean Fan Hong of the Confucius Institute of WAU discussed potential cooperation. Dean Chu Xianhua of the Confucius Institute of the University of Western Australia and Director Yao Jiali of the Department of Research Cooperation, the College of Education at ZJU, also participated in the meeting. CE-ZJU and FE-WAU have already singed a cooperative agreement 2 years ago. Dean Wildy visited ZJU two times and discussed enhancing cooperative possibilities in fields such as postgraduate education, scientific research, international academic conferences, faculty and student exchanges, school principal training, and many other areas. In the research fields, the both sides suggested plans for cooperative research in education strategies and policies, education technology, physical education and sociology and the humanities. Dean Xu invited UWA to join the Asia and European university cooperation project managed by ZJU. Dean Wildy accepted the cooperation partnership invitation with high interest.Concerning the subjects of Ed.D and school principal training, both sides hope to be able to accelerate cooperation and communication, especially concerning student exchanges and collaborative education.     On August 22, Dean Xu visited the Faculty of Education, Science, and Technology and Mathematics at the University of Canberra (UC). Both sides introduced overviews of their school development and their specialties and reached cooperation agreements for holding international conferences and student exchanges. The faculty hopes to visit our college this October and join in our international summer camp with 30 students from UC supported by government funding next summer.
